Our Department

The Department of Mathematics at Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College was established in 1962. Since inception, the department has aimed to enhance students’ conceptual learning, promote interdisciplinary learning and provide exposure to research and career opportunities in mathematics and related fields. Growing steadily, today the Department of Mathematics teaches various streams of Mathematics to undergraduate students of Science and Commerce. By keeping abreast of the latest developments, the department periodically updates and revises its teaching methods for the benefit of the students. The department is supported by a dedicated and research-oriented faculty with expertise across diverse areas including Optimization, Mathematical Modelling, Celestial Mechanics, Functional Analysis, Differential Geometry, Numerical Analysis, Operational Research, and Applied Mathematics. Faculty members actively contribute to research through publications in reputed journals, funded projects, and participation in academic development programmes. The Department actively promotes a research and innovation culture through faculty and student engagement in research projects, seminars, workshops, internships, and interdisciplinary learning opportunities. Research initiatives include a DST-SERB funded project and DBT Star College-supported activities that encourage undergraduate research and experiential learning. The department also regularly organizes student enrichment programmes, hands-on workshops, invited lectures, outreach activities, and interactions with eminent academicians and industry experts. The Mathematics Society: Quaternion, encourages mentoring initiatives, and student-centric pedagogy, as well as strives to create a stimulating academic environment that nurtures analytical thinking, creativity, and holistic development. The department also takes pride in its distinguished alumni and students who have excelled in higher education, professional careers, competitive examinations, and extracurricular achievements.

Our Objectives
