ABOUT US

Maintaining a green, clean, and refreshing environment is one of the primary objectives of the College. The campus is adorned with lush green lawns, numerous trees, and a wide variety of flowering plants, both potted and planted in the gardens. The College also has a rock garden and two herbal gardens. All these areas—the gardens, lawns, rock garden, and herbal gardens—are well maintained by trained gardeners. The Garden Committee ensures that all requirements for the development and maintenance of this green belt are duly fulfilled.

For the past several years, the College has been actively participating in the Annual University Flower Show. This year, the College participated in the 68th Annual Flower Show of the University of Delhi, held on 24 February 2026 at the Gautam Buddha Centenary Garden. Under the guidance of Dr. K. K. Sharma and Dr. Kanchan, the gardeners competed in various categories and won a total of 13 prizes. The College secured 1st prize in Foliage Plant (Aglaia), 2nd prizes in Succulents, Petunia Double, and Godetia, and 3rd prizes in Marigold, Pansy, Alocasia, and Fruit Plants. It also received “Highly Commended” recognition in Gerbera and awards in Special Foliage Plants such as Crotons, Xanadu, and Petunia Single Large. The College also participated in the Selfie Point Competition at the Flower Show, where, with the special efforts of Dr. Charu Mathur, Co-Convener, Arteysania, it secured 3rd prize.

The herbal garden has been further expanded, with the addition of several new medicinal plant species. In the main garden, various varieties of roses have been planted, and it is being developed as a dedicated rose garden.

During the summer season, gardeners cultivate plants such as Iresine, Sadabahar, Kochia, Kakascoma, and Periwinkle at different heights to create a layered and aesthetically appealing landscape. In winter, a wide variety of plants are grown, including different species of roses, Antirrhinum, Dianthus, Calendula, Cineraria, Dimorphotheca, Geranium, Gerbera, Larkspur, Nasturtium, Nigella, Petunia, Gazania, and others. Additionally, pansy pots, special foliage plants, ferns, and similar varieties are also carefully maintained by the gardeners.
