Established in 2014, ARA, the North-East Students’ Welfare Society of Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, is dedicated to supporting students from the North-Eastern states while promoting cultural awareness and inclusivity within the college community. The society aims to create a welcoming environment that not only addresses student welfare but also celebrates the rich heritage, traditions, and diversity of North-East India.

Through a range of academic, cultural, and interactive initiatives, ARA encourages dialogue, learning, and cross-cultural understanding among students. The committee regularly organizes talks, discussions, and awareness programs that highlight social, historical, and contemporary issues related to the North-East region, while also providing students with platforms for expression, collaboration, and personal growth.

Key highlights of 2025-26 includes the Orientation-cum-Talk Session, featuring expert insights on tribal studies and regional identity; the screening and discussion of the iconic Assamese film “Joymoti”, aimed at promoting awareness of North-Eastern cinema and cultural heritage; an Intercollegiate Volleyball Tournament, which fostered sportsmanship and unity among Delhi University colleges; and an insightful lecture titled “From Guwahati to Damascus”, exploring storytelling as a medium to understand conflict and human experiences. The society’s flagship celebration, Rainbow Fest, stands as a vibrant cultural showcase featuring music, dance, art, literature, competitions, and traditional performances that reflect the diversity of North-East India. Through these initiatives, ARA continues to build an inclusive space that fosters respect, understanding, and cultural harmony across campus.
